Privacy policy
D Caruana trading as RingTradie (ABN to be shown here once registered) handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, as they apply to us. This policy covers the RingTradie website.
What we collect
If you make an account: name, email, password (stored hashed), and optional mobile. If you list as a tradie: name, business name, email, mobile, trade, suburb, state, years, and any bio you write. If you pay: we collect card details to process the payment. We do not store the full card number — only the last four digits and a payment record. If you leave a review or a quote request: your name, number and the words you send. We also collect basic technical data (device, browser, pages used) so the site works.
Why we collect it
- To run your account and show you numbers you have paid for.
- To put tradies on the list so people can ring them.
- To take payment for a ring or a monthly pass.
- To email you that your account or listing worked, and about the tools draw if you entered.
- To handle reviews, quotes, complaints and abuse.
- To meet the law (records, tax, consumer complaints).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not buy marketing lists with it.
Who sees a tradie number
A tradie's phone is masked on the public list. It is shown only after a finder's payment is approved, or if they hold a current monthly pass. By listing, a tradie agrees to that disclosure. Quote requests share the finder's name and number with the tradie they asked for.
Who we share with
Payment processors, so we can take your card payment. Hosting and database providers, so the site stays up. Email delivery, so we can send the messages you asked for. The law, if we must. We do not share personal information for other people's advertising.
Emails (Spam Act)
If you make an account or list your trade, you agree we can email you about that account, that listing, and the tools draw if you entered. Those are messages about a service you asked for. We will identify ourselves and include a way to opt out of non-essential mail. You can also email hello@ringtradie.com and ask us to stop.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage that are needed to keep you logged in and to run the site. We do not use them to follow you around the rest of the web for ads.
Overseas
Some providers (hosting, login, payments) may store data outside Australia. If they do, we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances so they handle it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Access, correction, deletion
You can update your name, email and mobile in ACCOUNT. To see what we hold, correct it, or ask us to delete your account and listing (where the law allows), email hello@ringtradie.com. We may need to keep payment records for tax and consumer-law reasons.
Complaints
Privacy complaint: email hello@ringtradie.com first. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Collection notice: we collect your details so we can run RingTradie as described above. If you do not give them, we cannot make an account, list you, or take a payment. See also our Terms.
